A year after the first meeting we returned to Rungungu
Exactly a year after the people of Rungungu welcomed us with song and dance, we returned to the village. This time the celebration was ours to prepare for them.
On 22 January 2026, exactly a year after the people of Rungungu welcomed us in the way Tanzanian villages do, with a speech, with singing and with dancing, we came back. This time we wanted to prepare the celebration ourselves, for them.
The gathering included an address by a representative of the municipality and by representatives of My Trees. We cooked goulash in three large cauldrons, and more than 750 residents of Rungungu and pupils of the local primary school ate together.
The children had prepared a song and a dance for us, in which they expressed their joy and their thanks for the help planned to create healthier, safer and better conditions for learning. The local doctor thanked us for the help being prepared as well.
An information board devoted to the projects being prepared was unveiled during the celebration.
This gathering does not end our help. On the contrary, it begins its next stage. We will report regularly on the individual projects and on how they progress.
